New bus depots in Yishun
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is sprucing up the bus infrastructure landscape by introducing a brand-new multi-storey bus depot in the Simpang area. This depot, nestled on a spacious 5.6-hectare site adjacent to a heavy vehicle carpark opposite Yishun Industrial Park, is poised to accommodate a whopping 500 buses.
What’s more, this cutting-edge depot will boast a range of facilities designed to streamline daily bus operations, facilitate repair and maintenance tasks, offer ample parking space, and even provide electric bus charging stations, all topped off with eco-friendly solar panels adorning the roof.

Other bus depot plans?
This Yishun depot is just one piece in LTA’s grand vision for better connectivity.
By 2029, they have plans for two other depots in Pasir Panjang and Lorong Halus. The Pasir Panjang depot, boasting a magnificent seven-storey main building accommodating 550 buses, is set to bolster bus operations in the southern region.
On the other hand, the Lorong Halus depot, standing tall at four storeys high and housing another 550 buses, is primed to take over as the go-to hub for the eastern region.
Plus, several other new bus depots are currently in various stages of construction across Singapore, including those in Sengkang West, Gali Batu, East Coast, Kim Chuan, and Tengah, all contributing to the resilience of our public transport network.
