HDB BTO flats to launch for 2023 – Here’s the lowdown:

In the approaching Build-To-Order (BTO) sales launch scheduled for October 2023, HDB plans to offer approximately 6,800 flats in coveted locations like Choa Chu Kang, Kallang Whampoa, Queenstown, and Tengah town/estate.

What’s more, this launch takes into account the ballot results for the May BTO and Sales of Balance Flats exercise, ensuring a fair chance for all applicants.

So, what’s different this time around?

Well, new First-Timer (Parents & Married Couples) applicants – or FT(PMC) can expect an extra ballot chance and higher priority in BTO/ Sale of Balance flat (SBF) exercises. This presents young families and newlyweds the opportunity to embark on their homeownership journey with added advantages and ease.

However, it’s important to note that rejecting a chance to book a flat now incurs a penalty. To ensure eligibility, prospective homeowners will also need an HFE (HDB Flat Eligibility) letter before they can apply for a flat.

Another HDB BTO exercise at the end of the year

But that’s not all – the grand finale of 2023 promises another wave of opportunities.

In December, HDB plans to launch about 6,000 flats in prime locations including Bukit Panjang, Jurong West, Woodlands, Bedok, Bishan, Bukit Merah, and Queenstown. Imagine the possibilities that these diverse neighbourhoods hold for prospective homeowners!

To address the growing housing demand, HDB has increased the supply of BTO flats by a staggering 35%, escalating from 17,100 flats in 2021 to 23,200 flats in 2022, and now reaching a monumental 23,000 flats in 2023.

These newly launched flats, coupled with previous releases, would make up a total of 63,300 flats so far, contributing significantly to HDB’s ambitious target of 100,000 flats by the end of 2025.

HDB has affirmed that they are on track to achieve their promised target.
