In the PropertyGuru Singapore Property Outlook 2023 report, more first-time buyers may shift their sights to the rental market in the coming year. Largely, this group is motivated by affordability constraints in buying a home of their own (high resale prices, recent cooling measures and so on), and see renting as a short- to medium-term housing solution.
