ERA Singapore has unveiled a series of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) efforts – which will be kickstarted by a $231,000 donation to Hong Kah North Environmental Sustainability Fund – during its Q4’21 Career Advancement Day.
ERA revealed that it managed to raise the $231,000 donation with the help of the company’s 21 senior management and trusted advisers, who each donated $11,000.
Supporting two of the five key pillars under the Singapore Green Plan 2030 – City in Nature and Sustainable Living, the donation funds will benefit over 42,000 households in Tengah Town and other parts of Hong Kah North.
Speaking at the virtual conference, Dr. Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment commended the company for embracing sustainability as well as empowering its over 8,300 trusted advisers and staff in promoting green practices while providing fundraising and volunteerism avenues in support of the Green Plan.
“I am pleased to note that part of ERA’s donations will go towards the setting up of community gardens, including growing edibles in the Bukit Batok West Extension and the upcoming Tengah Housing Estates,” she said.
“The first such garden will be built on top of a multi-storey carpark at Bukit Batok West Avenue 8. This will increase green cover, enhance liveability as well as contribute to our growing local goal.”

ERA’s donation will also be used to support the setting up of Eco Hubs at Tengah Town’s void decks to widen environment education as well as encourage sustainable living practices like community gardening and Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (3R).
To foster a spirit of collaboration and inclusivity, the donation will also go towards organising eco-activities with community partners, such as volunteer welfare organisations and schools, and showcase the eco-projects of residents.
“The funds will also assist low income and vulnerable residents to adopt sustainable living, as well as provide education grants and assistance to students and residents from vulnerable families,” added Khor.
Meanwhile, ERA’s newly appointed Deputy CEO Doris Ong will chair the company’s ESG efforts, which is themed ‘ESG by ERA’.
“We’re proud to lead these efforts and promote the adoption of ESG practices among our staff, trusted advisers, clients and corporate partners in their daily life and decision-making process,” said Ong.
“ERA’s contribution towards the Hong Kah North Sustainability Fund is a good start, and we will strive to become a green corporate citizen in other areas such as tackling the distribution of bottled water at property launches, incorporating and promoting green practices inside and outside the company. We have more initiatives in the pipeline and will continue to harmonise ESG frameworks into our business strategy and day-to-day operations.”
