Real estate consultancy JLL has launched its three-year, $2.6 million Future Skills programme with the aim of creating a pipeline of strong local talent for Singapore’s real estate industry.
The programme is part of the consultancy’s ongoing efforts to attract, retain and nurture local talent.
JLL believes the programme will deepen its local talent pipeline of graduates, interns and apprentices, create employment opportunities for mid-career professionals in adjacent industries and nurture its Singaporean employees by equipping them with professional skills.
To set out early career pathways for young talent, the consultancy designed three programmes for internship, client experience and functional expertise for graduates. JLL will partner with local tertiary and vocational institutions, offering internship opportunities as well as entry-level positions to 122 local graduates, undergraduates and technical associates for three years.
To support mid-career transitions, JLL will tap into mid-career professionals from adjacent industries, retraining local professionals in customer service, engineering and technical roles. The reskilling programme would see technicians from other sectors become engineers and facility managers while facilities executives and guest ambassadors transition into more senior roles within facilities management.
To upskill the local workforce, JLL is investing in initiatives aimed at grooming its existing local talent. This will be done through individual programmes that focus on “inclusive leadership, resilience and wellbeing; innovation and human-centred design; sales and business development; and proptech, data and analytics”.
